Ahhhh Norway. This timelapse of daily life in Scandinavia from Damp Design is so good. Andrew emailed it to me the other day.

Have you ever been somewhere and seen something that is impossible to capture on film?

I’m assuming the answer is yes.

Lately I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic for the days of living abroad.

Probably because I know now that we will not be moving…ever again probably? GULP.

I’m starting to forget things about Asheville, Norway, Edinburgh, and Austin. The little things, places, foods, bus tokens, etc. Makes me sad is an understatement.

While I love Pinterest for finding new recipes or style inspiration, my favorite use for it is to create curated boards that mean something special to me.

For a little while, I’ve been sporadically pinning to a secret board called “places that shape me.”

I don’t want to forget where I’ve lived.

So I began pinning images that make me remember. Most of them are places I would frequent often, things that stood out, my actual apartment/house, or general landscapes. This pin board is still a work in progress…I’m always trying to pin little things as I remember them. If you’re looking for a new and fun way to journal/scrapbook, I suggest giving it a whirl…it’s a really fun experience! I have loved finding old haunts via Google image searches. We live in a truly crazy world. I’m grateful.

I’ve recently made that board public, feel free to take a look.

Oh Pinterest…I kind of have a love/hate relationship with you. Do I think you’re a wonderful source of inspiration and an easy way to share content?

Yes.

Do I think you’ve replaced magazines so that women (mostly) now have an instant, free way to feel incredibly inadequate on a daily basis?

Kinda.

Yep, Pinterest must be approached with a healthy dose of “I’m fine!” Here are my favorite accounts, mostly because they just post such beautiful photos of all kinds.

There are many more, but like many other posts this month, this is a day late! I need to get it together on my own challenge!

Synchronicity in my daily life? There’s a lot and I love it. Not a lot more I have to say about that at the moment…

It seemed like a good post idea at the time…

More later…

Just being honest…

Have a good weekend!

a stream of consciousness, internet surfing blog post

2014-07-01 16.37.29

Waiting. Closing on Wednesday…waiting to move. Trying to busy myself with going to yoga classes and doing laundry while drinking beer. Just got back from eating Mexican food and drinking margaritas at local El Nop, now nursing a glass of Charles Shaw chardonnay….these are my thoughts:

Question: what’s up with microbreweries putting everything in cans now? Is this the thing? Not sure if I approve…

Loving Bon Iver’s new song for the Wish I Were Here soundtrack:

I just found photos of the Full House cast having fun at Dave Coulier’s wedding while listening to that song:
.

Also catching up on some blog reading…Can we please talk about how much I love the photography print by Gray Malin (no, not because we have the same weird first name) that hangs over the couch of Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere?

I really love his prints…like, a lot.

While trying to ignore the sounds of firecrackers being set off outside the house, I’m now blasting this song:

While looking for some new house decor (seriously, I need to think of something else) on Pinterest, I just came across this photograph on my feed:

And then this? Say whaaaaa?!

Oh Pinterest….

And on that note, I’ve got to get up at 4:30am tomorrow to teach yoga….I KNOW.

I love how dedicated my students are…really, I do! HA!

See y’all
