January…you were fast and furious!
Lots going on, kind of feels like it lasted forever actually when I think back on it…It feels like forever since I’ve done a bullet point, monthly wrap up so let’s get going!
1. It has already been so great to Kaylex and Baby Graham back in Corydon and down the street at that!
2. We had a ton of new students at the studio and am excited about some future plans in that department.
3. Successfully participated in National Readathon Day.
4. Feeling a little overwhelmed with inspiration in regards to podcasts and blogs. So many things to listen to and read!
5. Did not have a single snow day. Boo.
6. Started the year off right with 108 Sun Salutations with my fellow yogis and yoginis of Louisville. So good.
7. This book is OVERRATED.
8.And that’s all I’ve got for now. I’m a little distracted. I’ve been working hard on my new website. Yes, this blog will be moving locations very soon. Stay tuned!
Insert right here: a super-happy-that-it’s-Friday line.
What a whirlwind of a week! I’m so thrilled we’ve seen so many new students at the studio, but it makes for busy days. I’ve been making peppermint towels around the clock and it is amazing. I’m still reading the second Elena Ferrante novel, The Story of a New Name. For those of you out there who’ve read it, DID YOU EVER FINISH!? I love it, but every single night this week I’ve sat in the tub reading away and I still have a over 100 pages left…
I also found a random video on the computer from a time we drove through a super long, super creepy tunnel in Norway and thought I would share…this video could be a lot longer…that tunnel was LONG. Not sure we’ll ever get over Paul Simon’s The Sound of Silence coming up on the iPod at that moment. Shuffle is psychic sometimes.
This is a perfect yoga playlist.
Unfortunately, Spotify doesn’t have the first track available. Boo. It’s from the Up in the Air soundtrack. It’s the best class opener ever.

This is a recent photo of the bridge progress in Louisville. Thanks Terry! Our dear city is getting not one, but two new bridges over the Ohio.
It is an insane project…pretty much a marvel to drive through it each day.
Things are happening. Lots of brainstorming and thinking about future plans around these parts…especially in regards to the studio and its future. I look forward to sharing on this blog once we are more solid on details.
In the meantime, I’m busy with thinking about it all. New ideas for everything…new websites, new places and spaces, maybe a new location of this here blog!?!? Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted.
It was a great weekend full of reading, yoga, and book buying. I went a little nuts at Carmichael’s new kids store on Bardstown Rd…
The kids at school will be thrilled with these I’m sure.
As January comes to a close, I’m thrilled to report that resolutions are going strong. Little Free Library is up and I’m on my fifth book of the year. We’ve also got a definite plan on painting the upstairs. More on that later.
We also have had no snow days yet at school…hoping for just a few here in there in February. Ha…
A couple blogs I read do link round-ups on Friday. I love it!
I don’t plan to add more noise, but thought it would be nice to link up to their link ups!

I am excited for National Readathon Day tomorrow! I’m headed to Lucky’s this afternoon to get treats to get us through…also having people for dinner tonight so have to get some wine. I’m still going strong with that secret resolution! It’s been fun picking out new things each weekend and actually drinking something halfway decent.
If you’re reading tomorrow, be in touch on twitter or instagram!
Way too much to read, listen, see, do, eat, drink, watch, write, and make. I want to do it all and every day I just find out about more stuff!
I will be honest that TV has taken a bit of a backseat lately. We don’t have any shows going right now. Although we did start Boardwalk Empire. Egads, that thing is about MEN being MEN and being POWERFUL. Which I’m not so sure I need to see another show like that, but it’s very well done so….
I’ve been reading at night instead of watching stuff and am trying to read during my lunch at work as well. It’s going okay! Here’s a master list of the things I’m trying to consume this week…maybe just this afternoon!?
An hour long video interview with Ashtangi Laruga Glaser. She is amazing. I can’t wait to watch this.
I’m currently reading two incredible page turners. I was making fabulous prgress on the second book in the Elena Ferrante trilogy when I listened to this episode of Books on the Nightstand. I am now obsessively reading The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. I’m not sure how great a book it is (quality wise), but it’s definitely entertaining…the Gone Girl of 2015 for sure.
My podcast feed is out of control. Trying to listen through it all, but getting bogged down. Especially with the slew of new albums being released right now too!
Oh, and let us not forget, the internet. There is my Feedly list of blogs, which is downright gigantic. The flood of daily news (thank god for NYT Now), op-eds, long reads, twitterings, and vlogs. Yep, I said vlogs. Perhaps my secret obsession with YouTube channels should be saved for another post entirely…
And on top of it all, today is Thursday and Thursday is when the GOOP newsletter arrives in my inbox, ready and waiting for ridicule!
It’s all too much…but in a good way I’m pretty sure.

This is so good.
Penguin Random House along with GoodReads, Mashable, and the National Book Foundation has declared January 24th National Readathon Day. From noon until 4:00pm this Saturday I’ll be playing along by plopping down with lots of yummy food and beverages, not moving–settling in to READ something.
My Mom is hosting and it should be funny to see if we can keep from yapping the whole time. Many coffeeshops, libraries, community centers, and even bars are hosting silent, group reading this Saturday.
Click here for a list of participating venues throughout the country.
I found out about this from one of my favorite podcasts, Books on the Nightstand. I’m a little overloaded with great podcasts right now…I plan to share a list of what I’m loving tomorrow.
I am so excited about this post. And before you read any further, just know that this is NOT a sponsored post. I found Zazzle just a few weeks when researching possible sticker options for the studio and have been a little obsessed ever since.
My phone has been living in one of my most heinous Otter boxes imaginable. Mainly because when I bought my Samsung Galaxy 3 this fall (woohoo Virgin Mobile prepaid cell phones!) it was the only Otter Box still available for such an old phone. HA! After lunching with a dear friend that’s way cooler and hipper than I am, I realized that it was just unacceptable. Totally joking of course, I know this is not a real issue in life, but I did think a new case might be fun. I ordered one just to see how it turned out and was blown away! I can’t believe the quality–so good.
I have not been painting much the past couple of years. It’s something I need to get back into. While living in Norway and Edinburgh I got a little obsessed with it. I have digital files of all that work and it translates very well into phone covers. Who knew!?
Each of these photos is linked to its listing on my Zazzle store. Go take a look! They are available on many, many different kinds of cases for a wide variety of smartphones and tablets. You are also in control of aligning the image and zooming in and out.
The possibilities are endless with this site. I kind of get overwhelmed thinking about all them. If you like these or want to design something of your own, head to my store on Zazzle.
